Belvedere is a luxury vodka from Poland. Distinctive by its use of Dankowskie Gold Rye and distilled four times. One of only two distilleries in Poland to own its own water source- an artisan well close to the distillery. Named after the Belweder Palace in Warsaw (which is the building you see on the bottle), the name translates in Italian as ‘beautiful to see’.
Brockmans Gin is beautifully made from the finest botanicals, this is a gin that dares to be different. Brockmans is an intensely smooth gin that tastes great over ice, in a G&T or with Ginger Ale.
Originally set up in Paris in the early 1800s to much acclaim (the then Emperor Napoleon III drank no other Cognac than Courvoisier) the business eventually moved ‘down south’ to Jarnac in Cognac itself in 1828. The products fame was surely at its peak when served at the opening of the iconic Eiffel Tower in 1889.
It takes some determination to build a distillery by hand, but that is precisely what William Grant and his 9 (yes, 9) children did back in 1886. After twelve months of what must have been hard labour the distillery was ready and named Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer, and started production on Christmas Day 1887 Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now one of the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt* Scotch Whisky Distilleries. Something tells me that Mr Grant would be very proud!

Jack Daniel’s 100 Proof Bottled-in-Bond is a rich, bold whiskey that honours the 1890s, the time when Mr. Jack began bottling whiskey in his signature square bottle. Bottled at 100 proof.
“Jack’ is in fact one Jasper Newton Daniel who learnt the art of making whiskey from none other than a Preacher. By 1866 his confidence was such that he established the very first registered distillery in the US. I wonder if he ever imagined the heights that his Distillery would scale?

John Walker clearly wasn’t a sentimental man. Within a year of his Father dying (in 1819) he had sold the family’s farm and set up his own Grocery Store. His business acumen was never in question though and the store went from strength to strength. He was also frustrated by the quality inconsistencies of Malt Whiskies available at the time. This simply wasn’t good enough for him and so soon the store saw an addition to its shelves- his own blended whisky.
The Macallan Estate is some 360 hectares in size and stunning to boot. The whiskies themselves have long been those of great distinction and full of character. At the heart of their creation is the Estate’s own Minstrel Barley and the smallest stills in Speyside. Both go to ensure the house’s signature rich, fruity and full flavours are ever present. If you ever come across an old Scottish 10 note, you will spot these very stills which appeared on the back of the note for a number of years.
